Boxes brimming with life
A photo exhibition by Tom Linster
22 May 24 October 2010
Wildlife photographer Tom Linster is passionate about his job. He has crossed the globe, from Australia to the north of Canada, in search of the perfect photo opportunity. As a cameraman he also worked for the well know TV program "Man bijt hond". For three consecutive years Tom won the Argus Environmental photo contest in the category "Nature in your backyard". Last year his first book "The planet has the hots for us" expressed his concern about global warming and climate changes.
During the international year of biodiversity he presents his latest creations in the castle of the National Botanic Garden. Huge boxes or trunks are filled with numerous of his pictures, many inspired by plants and the living collections of the Garden. It's a unique opportunity to get a new angle on the dazzling diversity of plant life.
Parallel to this exhibition a series of workshops will enable participants to create their own piece of the project. A large biodiversity web, at the centre of the exhibit, will gradually be added to with pictures taken by amateur photographers, inspired by the Garden and the diversity of our Living collections.
